For some reason acpi_root_suspend/acpi_root_resume is missing totally in SLE10 GA kernel and I doubt this line will help that much. I have a kernel with suspend patches I like to have in for SP1 already build to an rpm here: /mirror/SuSE/ftp.suse.com/pub/people/trenn/sle10_SP1_hp_fix_cpufreq_ACPI_events_kernels_snd_try/ The additional added patches are also placed there if someone wants to have a look at. They include: acpi_root_suspend/resume added. Invoke those before pts_gts to fix broken fans on suspend on HPs. Thermal, battery, power and fan resume (and partially suspend) functions Process notify events in an own queue/thread (and the release global lock patch that is also needed for that). According to Ihno those break suspend to ram for him, but since his last test I modfied a little bit. I tried it once on an HP with broken fans and invoking suspend ACPI functions earlier, fixed the broken away fans after resume. I'd really appreciate some feedback on this. I only waited because someone promised me a machine to test on, but this is too long ago and if someone else tells me that this kernel is working fine and not breaking anything on his machine I'd like to post those on kernel list and ask for inclusion.
