https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=303924#c290355 Summary: OpenOffice (oocalc) should distinguish between Shift pressed and Shiftlock Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Beta 2 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: OpenOffice.org AssignedTo: eward@novell.com ReportedBy: sndirsch@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: eich@novell.com Found By: --- With some keyboard layouts (e.g. french and belgium, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caps_lock --> Shift lock and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keyboard_layout#AZERTY for french/belgium keyboard layout), it makes sense to use Capslock as Shiftlock to type numbers in a spreadsheet program, especially if you don't have a number key block (e.g. if you use a laptop). Unfortunately OpenOffice.Org (oocalc) and probably also any other application/toolkit do not distinguish between Shiftlock and Shift. Therefore when you select a cell (left mouse button) in the spreadsheet and then a second one (also left mouse button) with Shiftlock enabled you also mark the cells between - as if you would have Shift pressed. A behaviour you don't want, don't expect and also don't get on Windows. How to reproduce: * setxkbmap -layout us -option "caps:shiftlock" * oocalc * press capslock/shiftlock * mark different cells with left mouse button P.S.: This bugreport is the conclusion of Bug #290355. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
