--- Comment #5 from Johannes Meixner 2013-09-05 17:10:53 CEST ---
Both your attachment#555968 bug-838487_evincebug.ps
and your attachment#555969 bug-838487_evincebug.pdf
look same for me when I display them with Ghostscript and
for bug-838487_evincebug.pdf the Adobe Reader shows also the same.
But your attachment#555970 bug-838487_evincebug-out.ps
looks misplaced and broken when I display it with Ghostscript.
It looks as if a rotation from "Landsacpe" to "Portrait"
should have happened but it partially failed.
Regarding "Landscape Printing" see
http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Landscape_Printing
When you print those files, the printout should look
as what you get when you display them with Ghostscript, see
http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:How_to_Report_a_Printing_Issue
When you have a PostScript printer you can print PostScript files
directly using the "-o raw" option via
$ lp -d print_queue_name -o raw bug-838487_evincebug.ps
and
$ lp -d print_queue_name -o raw bug-838487_evincebug-out.ps
Your PostScript printer should print out what you get
when you display them with Ghostscript.
The creator/producer tools in your attached files are:
bug-838487_evincebug.ps (second line in that file):
%%Creator: set.border 6.53 64-bit
bug-838487_evincebug.pdf (using /usr/bin/pdfinfo for that file):
Producer: GPL Ghostscript 9.06
bug-838487_evincebug-out.ps (second line in that file):
%%Creator: cairo 1.12.8 (http://cairographics.org)
This indicates that evince calls cairo to make PostScript output
and it seems that PostScript output gets somehow broken.
But on the other hand my HP LaserJet 1220 PostScript printer
does not at all print your bug-838487_evincebug.ps with "-o raw"
which indicates that your initial PostScript file
could be already somehow broken.
When I convert it with Ghostscript using
$ ps2ps bug-838487_evincebug.ps bug-838487_evincebug.ps2ps.ps
then my HP LaserJet 1220 PostScript printer fails to print
bug-838487_evincebug.ps2ps.ps with a PostScript error page:
------------------------------------------------------------------
ERROR:
invalidaccess
OFFENDING COMMAND:
filter
STACK:
/SubFileDecode
endstream
0
--nostringval--
--nostringval--
21
false
------------------------------------------------------------------
which indicates even more that something seems to be at least
"strange" with your initial PostScript file.
I can print your initial bug-838487_evincebug.ps
on my HP LaserJet 1220 when I use it in its PCL5e mode
(e.g. via the Ghostscript driver ljet4) because
Ghostscript can process your initial PostScript file.
What do you get when you display your files with Ghostscript?
(See http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:How_to_Report_a_Printing_Issue)
What do you get on your PostScript printer when you print
bug-838487_evincebug.ps and bug-838487_evincebug-out.ps
using the "-o raw" option as described above?
