Ole and Piotr, thanks a bunch for your bug report. In fact, it sounds like it
could be related to what I've seen momentarily on an Ironlake machine with
drm-kmp-default installed. I can confirm that it's fixed by either uninstalling
drm-kmp-default (as described in Comment 39), or installing the KOTD (kernel
v4.15 seems to be fine).
Meanwhile, we've had several issues with the drm-kmp on Intel Gen4 and Ironlake
(Gen5) hardware, and decided not to install it by default on such hardware.
However, that does nothing for existing installations and installations based
purely on the released ISO, so I'm afraid you still had to remove it manually.

Okay, since both uninstalling drm-kmp-default as well as the KOTD fix the
issues, let's close this as RESOLVED FIXED. Thanks again!
