Can you attach acpidump and dmesg (without acpi=off), please. Please check that the fan and thermal module got loaded. Do you have entries in /proc/acpi/fan? Also paste /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/*/trip_points
i have two entries in /proc/acpi/fan : FN1 and FN2 each of which has one file: empy file "state" of 0 bytes. /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/*/trip_points has the following empty files: total 0 dr-xr-xr-x 2 root root 0 Jan 9 17:18 ./ dr-xr-xr-x 3 root root 0 Jan 9 18:24 ../ -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Jan 9 18:24 cooling_mode -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Jan 9 18:24 polling_frequency -r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 Jan 9 18:24 state -r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 Jan 9 18:24 temperature -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Jan 9 18:24 trip_points the two modules get loaded and give a problem when transitionig device from one state to another. i have switched to 2.6.18.5-jen kernel and now, when booting the if the fan is off and has to transition to on, or it has to remain to off the fan works. when it is on and needs to be turned on is turns off and doesn't start again. i'll attach dmesg and acpidump files. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
