https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=248574 Summary: 3D Acceleration switch function Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: SaX2 AssignedTo: ms@novell.com ReportedBy: jimomura@pathcom.com QAContact: qa@suse.de This is NOT the bug: I am using an nVidia card with the nVidia driver. If 3D Acceleration is "on" then it crashes periodically, so I have to keep 3D Acc. OFF. This IS the bug: In "Control Center -> Graphic Card and Monitor" after a fresh boot, the switch is always marked with an X (ON), and if I just boot and use the computer, it will eventually crash. If I boot and immediately turn the switch OFF, then I can work indefinitely without crashing. The next time I reboot, the 3D Acceleration will be ON again. This is incorrect because: 1. According to the dialog messages, after I switch the control, it should *not* have any effect until after I restart X, whereas as far as I know, it is immediately changed. That much is nice actually, but then the message windows should be corrected. 2. I expect that the program is supposed to RETAIN the condition that I select (ON or OFF) indefinitely, unless I change it. However, it always seems to be ON every time I reboot. So maybe this is one bug or 2? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
