Hi,
similar problem to bug 617640 (marked as duplicate of this one). This morning
my Samsung NC10 (OpenSuse 11.3-KDE, 32-bit) failed to set the network address
for my wireless card. According to /var/log/messages numerous dhcp requests
were sent but it never acquired an IP address. KNetworkmanager eventually
prompts for the key again and restarts the cycle. This is on a WEP "encrypted"
network.
Note I do _not_ get the gain calibration messages mentioned in this report (but
not in 617640)!
I rebooted into Fedora 12 and had the same problem.
I rebooted into Windows and managed to connect successfully.
Eventually, I decided to reboot the wireless router (Asus WL500gP-running
DD-WRT) after which I could connect again.
So my problem could have been a router issue but Windows connected successfully
before the reboot.
I'm happy to test with compat-wireless but what's the best place to get it
from?
