--- Comment #3 from Takashi Iwai
Depending on source, I watch in Firefox or Seamonkey browser or with Kaffeine.
So, it needs a fix in each application. I guess the dedicated media player application has an option to disable the screensaver, so kaffeine should have such an option in preference dialog, etc. But the behavior on the web browser is a different question. It's just a flash plugin, and it doesn't mean you're watching a movie. That is, you cannot stop the screensaver just because a flash plugin is running. It might be a simple ad screen. For HTML5, the browser could determine much better about the content, so it might have a better option, though. In anyway, please report the problem to each upstream. It's a way too wide topic to track in the bugzilla.
As for HDMI, I would be doing this with my notebook computer, which has only one HDMI output. How does Windows do it? How does this compare with plugging in a USB headset? It switches audio automatically.
Yes, and this is a fundamental problem. In the case of HDMI, you are still seeing a video on both. The graphics screen won't be switched exclusively but usually cloned as default. Then only the sound is exclusively switched? It'd be inconsistent. In other words, there is no 100% analogy with the USB-audio case wrt HDMI audio/video. So, again, this is not a thing we can fix in the distro level. This is a fundamental feature to be enhanced in the upstream. It'd be better to join the discussion in PA devel ML or such. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
