Now, from the log, I realized that the error happens not at the place I expected; it's not at the codec detection but rather at the codec configuration. I refreshed the test patch to repeat in a right place, and a new test kernel is being built in the same OBS repo, home:tiwai:bsc1190801. The new kernel will have a version 5.3.18-*.ga34393f.
