I took the time to extract out the relevant code into a test.c file which demonstrates the issue. See attached test.c source file. Since I had pandoc installed in /usr/bin/pandoc, I postulated renaming Pandoc in the RStudio directory would force the RStudio profiler to use the system-installed Pandoc instead.
