See this code: ... =================================================================== We see this kind of bugs again and again. In the past, YCC was properly supported in gettext. We need this for Ruby as well. Please, take the time to report appropriate info to the gettext maintainers (or better, provide a patch). To reproduce, try the atteched sample.mc file. Append a line feed character at the end of the file and windmc works (mostly) as intended. Warning: Be careful when reproducing on 64 bit systems with lots of RAM and/or swap space. This operation may cause the system to seemingly block for an extended amount of time. However, when using a serial line with getty that is usually not the case and I think the original use case for pam_securetty. So in order to keep existing configs working and make use cases like machinectl work at the same time I'd suggest to put pam_securetty back into the config file but not ship an /etc/securetty by default anymore.
