Install is to an already existing encrypted LVM, with "/boot" as "/dev/sda5" using legacy MBR partitioning. My plan was to boot via the Windows boot manager. The initial boot configuration was: boot from "/boot" boot from extended partition set active flag install generic boot code into MBR. I turned off all but the first of those (to boot from "/boot"). I later went back and rechecked. The boot settings had turned on "set active flag" and "install generic boot code". I turned them off again. I then went back into the boot section again. And the same problem. The installer is stupidly insisting on this. I eventually allowed the install to go through anyway. Of course, it would not boot. The active flag had been set to the extended partition ("/dev/sda4") but there was no boot code in that partition. I had to change the boot flags (with a rescue boot) back to the Windows partition before I could boot. I'll note that this did not happen with install of 13.2 to the same partitions. Every tenth session start or so, sometimes more often, when I open firefox I have a curious issue. Certain letters of the menus and web-pages are missing. This is not corrected by restarting the firefox instance. Normally this does not hit other applications, however, when I use ksnapshot to make a photo it hits also the dialogue of "save as" where all the files represented in the menu window are hit by this. While e.g. dolphin is not hit, in the very same session. Once this is the case only a complete logout of kde (of that specific personality) and a login, solves the issue. It will then present randomly from time to time without me being able to see a rule in this. I join an attachment with a snapshot of a part of bookmark. Same applies to all menus and also to webpages. Settings: Firefox Language Italian Style Oxygen fine settings are default. A search at https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux reveals that it is not a known problem. Will update our Steam package to the latest version 1.0.0.50, but I doubt it will help.
