It only works if I don't change resolution and scan type from the default (75DPI, color). After changing, it never works again. I tried 'LibereOffice' on a laptop from a OS 12.2 Live DVD. No go! I tried this with Gnome 3, Kde and Xfce Desktop. Xsane and simplescan work fine. I also have a laptop with OS 11.4, with the last updates. No go! Printer/Scanners tested with are 'HP Deskjet F2179' and 'HP PSC 1410'. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Fresh install OS 12.2 with all Updates (Automatic Install). 2. Configure printer and scanner 3. Test scanner with 'xsane, and 'simplescan' 4. Start LibreOffice 'Writer' 5. Go on Menu Bar to Insert->Picture->Scan->Select Source 6. Scan with Default (75DPI, Colour) 7. Go on Menu Bar to Insert->Picture->Scan->Select Source 8. Change from Default (75DPI, Colour) to any other setting, like 300DPI, LineArt. 9. Scan again. 10. No Go! Actual Results: Impossible to scan documents into LibreOffice Writer. After retrying to scan, Writer aborts. Expected Results: Scanned documents and photos should appear in LibreOffice Writer. LibreOffice 3.5:build-413 Build ID: 350m1(Build:413); hplip 3.12.4-3.1.2 Scanning into LibreOffice works fine when using: Debian Mint (LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 Build ID: 350m1(Build:2), hplip 3.12.6-3; Sabayon (Version 3.6.3.2 Build ID: Sabayon official package), hplip 3.12.9-r1~0. Scanning documents OpenSuse version of LibreOffice Word fails. Works fine with Debian Mint, Sabayon, Windows XP (same hardware). Tested on OS 12.2 host and new installations in Oracle VirtualBox with Oracle extensions on OS 12.2 Host with OS 12.2 Gnome 3 and KDE, Debian Mint and Sabayon Mate guest. Scanning with 'Simple Scan' application and HP scanner test work fine. Debian Mint and Sabayon Mate Desktops work fine. Hans Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. New install and update OS 12.2 with Gnome 3, KDE or other Desktop. 2. Start LibreOffice Word, 3. Insert -> Picture -> Scan -> Select Source. Change from default scan mode to Line Art, 300DPI. Scan a document. Then change scan mode to Grey and 200DPI. Scan next document. 4. Result: ERROR Scan Failed or similar. Actual Results: Error Message indicating scan failure or nothing. Sometimes LibreOffice Word just crashes when trying to change scnning parameters Expected Results: Scanned document or image inserted into the open LibreOffice Word document. Footer cannot be inserted in at least one template. No idea why. The presentation can be d/l from https://sites.google.com/site/4techsecrets/slide-presentations Although was converted to Google Docs, converting back to PPT/ODP should not be an issue and the problem should still exist (just try to insert a footer, not possible) 2. On all my Impress presentations, the Footer is located well up into the area normally designated for content. IMO the Footer should be lower, closer to the bottom edge. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open specific presentation (Installing and Optimizing on SSD_abbreviated) from http://sites.google.com/site/4techsecrets/slide-presentations 2. Convert if necessary to local Impress format 3. Try to insert a footer. I tried both on individual slides as well as "all slides" Actual Results: Unable to insert a footer, no change in slides. No change in slide(s) Expected Results: Expected to see a footer with text appearing in one or more slides Designated a "normal" bug although could be considered lower priority since another template can be selected where a footer would work. Also, footer positions can be manually moved or inserted into a separate text field although if there are a large number of slides, that an be onerous. This will create the PDF file of the document in your file system. 3.Run command: cupsfilter -m application/vnd.cups-raster -p <location to the PPD file> -o "PageSize=Letter.Autoduplex fitplot" duplex-letter.pdf > duplex_letter.ras 4. Open the generated raster file "duplex_letter.ras" using cups "rasterview" application and compare it with the original duplex_letter.pdf PDF file. 5. The new LibreOffice distributed with OpenSuse 11.4 (LibreOffice 3.3.2 OOO330m19 (Build:202)tag libreoffice-3.3.2.2) opens the first files extremly slowly (I am not talking about the known phenomenon that it takes some time to open files directly from dolphin etc., but if I start LibreOffice and if I try to open existing files from a local harddisk it may take up to 10 to 15 seconds. At the same time, the CPU frequency jumps up to its maximum. Once I have worked with calc or writer for a while, all files (not only those being in the cache) will be opened normally (< 1 second). Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start LibreOffice Writer 2. Open existing files (irrespective whether doc, odt, xls, ods) 3. Actual Results: It will take up to 15 seconds to open an existing files and the cpu frequency jumps to its maximum (even if I load small files < 20k). Expected Results: File should be opened much faster. I have started an old OpenSuse Live CD with OpenOffice, an the (same) files are opened much faster. As I have not made any modifications during the installation of OpenSuse 11.4, I cannot tell whether its a problem of LibreOffice, KDE or the distro.
