Unfortunaly, this is not possible because LibreOffice packaged from openSUSE uses the same executable of OpenOffice. To prevent this, /usr/bin/libreoffice must not be linked to /usr/bin/soffice. Upstream links this file to /opt. In the case of LibreOffice 4.0, the link goes to /opt/libreoffice4.0/program/soffice. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Download OpenOffice from www.openoffice.org 2. Try to install its menus 3. Actual Results: When you try to install OpenOffice menus with LibreOffice packaged from openSUSE, happens this: rpm -Uvih openoffice4.0-freedesktop-menus-4.0-9702.noarch.rpm Preparing... ################################# [100%] file /usr/bin/soffice from install of openoffice4.0-freedesktop-menus-4.0-9702.noarch conflicts with file from package libreoffice-4.1.1.2-1.1.x86_64 Expected Results: The conflict described above shouldn't happen. When opening the saved spreadsheet, the displayed document is gobbled graphically, and the formulars are corrupted. Thie particular document (an invoice) has been in use since at least 10 years now, I've noticed the problem after upgrading from 12.1 to 12.3 about 3 months ago. Other ODS documents save without apparent problems. Also, I've noticed that Apache OpenOffice 4.0.1 (on a Windows XP workstation) saves the document without apparent problems. I will upload the correct version of the document and the corrupt version after saving as well as screenshots showing the correct and the corrupt versions on my machine. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open testokay.ods with calc 2. Save under another name, e.g. testcorrupt.ods. Exit calc 3. Open testcorrupt.ods with calc Actual Results: testcorrupt.ods looks visually different (Note the position of the rounded rectangles near the top and the location/size of the gray rectangles on botom). Formulars are invalid in testcorrupt.ods because cell references have moved to different rows. I can insert pictures from file without any problems, using Insert -> Picture -> from file ... Outside of oowriter, iscan happily works with my epson stylus sx130 scanner. Before the latest update LibreOffice Calc did crash instead of showing the error message. The same error message regarding EvolutionLocal is popping up for every access to another database which has been created. Observation: The other pre-configured database "Bibliography" installs 2 additional dBase files, but these are missing for "EvolutionLocal". Clicking "More" --> "Information" returns another popup window: A connection for the following URL was requested "sdbc:address:evolution:local". Expected Results: Some table shown, similar to the result when expanding the other pre-configured database "Bibliography" (which works). Expected Results: The autoipd should startup and setup the network interface with a valid zeroconf IP address. Embed in a website, view with Google's inline viewer 3. Actual Results: With "Text-- Fit to Frame" the text should be automatically re-sized to fit the frame. When the document is converted, this functionality is not recognized. Expected Results: The "Fit to Frame" functionality should be preserved Although this can be argued as a Google Drive/Docs issue and the ball passed back and forth, I highly doubt that Google will make a change to accomodate OpenOffice users. Although not tested this time, I don't remember this ever having been a problem using Microsoft Office. If this the case, IMO it's further incumbent on LibreOffice to fix this, which IMO is likely because some method may be recognized in MS PPT that is being done dirrerently in LibreOffice. For as long as this problem is unaddressed, the workaround is to do a test deployment to Google, view the issues, then estimate the manual changes to be made in Impress, re-upload to test, view unaddressed problems, fix in Impress again, etc. Unsure if this bug is related to Bug 654584 I do not see this bug exporting to PPT and PPTX as that bug describes, only as I described in Google Drive/Docs. An example of my workaround can be viewed at Installing and Optimizing on SSD_abbreviated which is likely the second presentation posted at https://sites.google.com/site/4techsecrets/slide-presentations If you download the file and re-convert to an Impress format from the Google format, you should see the manual changes I made to font size.
