There should be /usr/share/applications/kde4/okularApplication_pdf.desktop instead /usr/share/applications/kde4-okularApplication_pdf.desktop Manual change make no sense because `update-desktop-database` overwrites and restore from kde/ to kde4-. All kde4 related destkop file are placed in separate directory in /usr/share/applications/kde4/ but `update-desktop-database` can't update those .desktop files in kde4/ subdir properly. So is there a problem with `update-desktop-database`? Or some other component... Categories are still present when accessing the WebDAV-Server (egroupware) with the web interface or another software. Everything was working flawlessly up to KDE 4.12, so I assume some hickup with the switch to "baloo". Concerning korganizer: The relevant categories are all gone. If I view the details of an appointment which has been set up before the KDE update,its categories somehow gets "re-imported" partially into korganizer. However, German "umlauts" are messed up and get more and more messed up if deleting and re-importing again the category. This is a bit strange: The category is displayed correctly in the korganizer overview, it is displayed not at all (?!?) in the "Categories"-field of the appointment details view, and it is again displayed with distorted "umlauts" when pressing the "..." button in this window. Concerning kaddressbook: Categories don't show up anywhere in kaddressbook. However, they seem to be still available somewhere as filtering (with the global filter field) still uses the categories... OpenSUSE 12.1 x86_64 KDE 4.7.2 Current patches (as of this morning) When switching virtual desktops the preview of which desktop I am on and which I am going to sometimes gets stuck. I use Ctrl+Alt+[left/right arrow] to change desktops and when this is stuck changing one more time fixes the problem. This happens a few times per day, though I change desktops many times per hour, often many times per minute depending on what I am doing. Reproducible: Occasionally, seemingly at random. Expected Results: The preview of the virtual desktops should fade after the change is completed. Actual Results: Sometimes the preview/display sticks until the next desktop change is made. By experience I know the root password is asked, but not any known password is working. An example is apper. When run as normal user it does ask authentication before doing the update, but because of this bug no update is possible because authentication always fails. When I run apper through kdesu everything works fine. Same problem arises for changes in network manager that need authentication. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Just do anything that needs policykit authentication 2. Give root password 3. Authentication will fail Actual Results: None of the policykit protected applications that need authentications work. Expected Results: That it authenticates with the root password.
