The reason is that function get_network_service_id tries to connect to /run/systemd/private, and if it fails, it gives an empty result. I changed line 245 to accept an empty string in this case, but it would be better to fix the underlying problem. Has been that way for days. The bug appears to be correlated with the kdebase4-workspace-4.11.6-107.1 update released on 17 Feb. 2014. By reverting the changes to /usr/share/kde4/apps/plasma/packages/org.kde.systemtray/contents/ui/main.qml as per http://quickgit.kde.org/?p=kde-workspace.git&a=commitdiff&h=c4b22caae66c2af… the problem is partially resolved (although no icon is resized along with the panel). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set a large font (15pt in my case) 2. Launch qbittorrent and minimise it to tray 3. Make the default panel taller Actual Results: The application icon remains small and uncentered. Expected Results: I expected the application icon to be resized along with the panel or at least repositioned.
