SD card reader (UB6250), found with lsusb the 16Mb card works on another PCs with suse 12.1 installed. after some tests here http://forums.opensuse.org/forums/english/get-technical-help-here/applicati… I suppose this could be a bug. I installed again a fresh and cristal clean suse 12.1 on my acer one d255, checked DVD install media=ok, installed with no network cable inserted, formatted /, /home and swap, installation went well, no advise or problems occurred, rebooted three times, the card reader doesn't works. I tested the suse 12.1 liveCD KDE, the card reader works. I tested with linux mint lisa liveDVD, the card reader works. I installed from suse 12.1 liveCD KDE, started liveCD KDE, tested again card reader and it works, clicked on install icon, installed with no network cable inserted, formatted /, /home (swap I cannot becouse was busy from suse liveCD, plus some annoying problem during installation about packagekit which didn't stop, I used system monitor to kill it, some advise about 1Gb of ram wasn't enough) apart this installation went well, rebooted three times, the card reader WORKS, updated and added packman and dvdcss repos, the card reader WORKS AGAIN. thanks for any response, at your disposition for further tests. The keyboard appears to be dead, but the mouse is alive. If I wait a long time, I get a message line (in text) about the display driver. I am forced to reboot the system. Expected Results: Run level is reset to runlevel and a new login is prompted This problem appeared on the release of the BETA. Both hang forever when detecting the partitioning of a disk drive. The yast partitioner (/usr/lib/YaST2/bin/y2base disk gtk) must be killed; it did not respond to any input. gparted was more polite but just as useless. parted, however, does manage to show the layout. Problems on an other OS on the computer enforce me to make a new installation(13.1RC2): til login windows are OK. But the Desktop is useless. Files in left upper corner are visible but Doc(control list) is not visible, each windows e. g. terminal is invisible first. With mouse in termial and left button pressing graphic is enabled but disappears some seconds later. The 120HZ-Acer monitor(FullHD) is connected via VGA to the computer. Command line mode is OK. After giving my username and password it immediately crashes with "Oh no! Something has gone wrong. A problem has occured and the system can't recover. Please log out and try again." I followed the hint i found googl'ing around and replaced in /usr/share/gnome-session/sessions/gnome.session the line RequiredComponents=gnome-shell;gnome-settings-daemon; by RequiredComponents=metacity;gnome-settings-daemon;gnome-panel But this did not help. Are there hints what to write into this file under 13.1? Is there any way to debug? Neither in /var/log/messages, nor in ~/.gnome2 ~/.gconf or ~/.gconfd was something written.
