This way to setting the partition properties seems to be SUSE distribution specific. The vanilla version of parted doesn't support such features. So, it would better to set the flags instead of setting the partition types with Hex IDs. For example, to enable lvm capabilities "set xx lvm on" will work. Building RHEL/CentOS based VMX images fails because of this. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a vmx image using the JeOS template and vmxboot/rhel-05.4 boot config. 2. Enable lvm support with <systemdisk> element in the system image configuration. 3. Initiate a kiwi build. Actual Results: the build fails with the following messages: Sep-07 00:38:03 <3> : Expected a directory at /tmp/kiwiboot.HX9283/image. Specify a directory as the configuration base. failed Expected Results: the build to pass and create a bootable VMX image. Please note this failure is only seen while using the lvm configuration in the VMX images. OCaml is itself already in the openSUSE distribution, located in devel:languages:misc. I have located three other packages that use it: - lablgtk2 (in devel:languages:misc) - ocaml-facile (in KDE:Distro:Factory) - unison (in network) I have recently submitted a large patch to the ocaml package in devel:languages:misc, and I have 25 other OCaml library packages in my home project, accumulated over the last several months [2]. Upon approval, I will submit them there, excluding camlimages, which currently has a build problem on 64-bit architectures. Since there are already a large number of OCaml packages in Fedora, I have modified various spec files from there when packages from there already exist. Those that were derived from fedora are marked as such. The Fedora Contributor License Agreement [3] permits users to re-license them as seen fit. All spec files are placed under the MIT license, unless there was already a license upon them (as was the case with the ocaml package, which came from SUSE itself). As for packaging guidelines, I have attempted to follow those specified by the Fedora project [4]. As such, they tend to conform to whatever specifications that rpmlint uses. Furthermore, to ensure that inter-package dependencies resolve correctly, I have enabled the internal dependency generator on builds that were on openSUSE distributions before the current Factory build. Doing such enables features that essentially match what ocaml.attr does in RPM 4.9. 2. We also need numbers of these OCaml modules to install Airtime[1] and then we will have an opportunity to package it[2]. There comes a time when video starts playing jumpy when you change to full screen mode. When you come back to normal window mode the video plays fast until it reach the real position. It can be the first video you play or not, but in the end it will happend. From then on subsequent videos all play choppy. If effects are disabled videos plays fine, but if they are reenabled the problem persists. Sometimes (rare) switching to VTs or disabling/enabling effects several times fixes the problem for a while. In normal window or with effects disabled the problem never happens. I would disable effects but then there is some sort of tearing: a diagonal like a stair appears in horizontal or vertical movements and when light flashes in some scene. Disabling composite doesn't make this to disappear (if it is tearing XV_VSYNC don't seen to work). OpenGL output is vsynced with or without composite but is unusable because it is very slow. I see no warnings or errors in Xorg.log.0. Enabling/disabling options in 50-device.conf doesn't help nor hurt. I've enabled BackingStore, EXAVSync and AccelDFS. If I disable desktop effects and run xcompmgr -a all videos play fine (but with xcompmgr -c the behaviour is as I described earlier). The problem with this is graphical corruption (some parts are not redrawn until the mouse pass over them, ...). With nomodeset the system is very slow an unusable. I've tried: [*] a default openSUSE installation [*] Tumbleweed [*] Kernel stable + X11:/XOrg repo [*] KDE 4.7 and XFCE. The problem is present in all cases. I've noticed that when the problem occurs the redraw of windows is a bit slower too. Greetings. This appears to be radeon driver related. The packages at issue are from the X11/Xorg which have worked well since the fix put in place from Bug 678264. Looking at the Xorg.0.log files from the crash (attached as Xorg.0.log.1) and from the working set of rpm (attached as Xorg.0.log.working), the new Xorg packages do not seem to be capable of loading the radeon driver.
