Xterm is just one way to reproduce the problem, the same happens with other programs, but not always. Gnome terminal for example seem to work fine though. There is also no problem if I switch one of monitors off. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Launch X with dual monitor setup. 2. I faced this issue when making a patch for KDE3 that should detect removable media without hal and which is based on analysis of /proc/self/mounts entries. Thus the mtab backend thinks about USB drives as of hard disks. The original release of 11.4 booted fine on this machine, except that X did not work, but the current version doesn't boot at all. I booted with loglvl=all guest_loglvl=all and captured the log via serial console. The log is attached. One problem found in testing was when booting OpenSuse 11.3 KDE4 live CD it would hang early on in the boot process. The attached screen shot shows the kernal hangs in the video code. Libvirt cannot start dnsmasq on this bridge and thus the bridge never gets up: May 17 08:53:08 susi dnsmasq[2216]: cannot open or create lease file /var/lib/libvirt/dnsmasq/default.leases: Permission denied May 17 08:53:08 susi dnsmasq[2216]: FAILED to start up As usual, "rcapparmor stop" fixes it. Not sure where to fix it, if libvirt or dnsmasq is to blame. Also many of dovecot's imap-login processes were completely hanging and had to be killed with a kill -9 since the normal service dovecot stop was unable to stop them.
