I landed on this bug report here https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=626012 regarding Filezilla, however, someone reported that the bug is against wxwidgets and a patch available here http://trac.wxwidgets.org/ticket/12447. Thanks Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. In a Gnome3 session, open Filezilla with a session (SSH/FTP) to a server 2. With an open session, drag and drop from local filesystem to remote filesystem 3. Actual Results: --- SIGSEGV (Segmentation fault) @ 0 (0) --- +++ killed by SIGSEGV +++ Segmentation fault Expected Results: The operation to be completed, file or folder to be uploaded This bug only seems to effect Gnome3 or gnome-shell users. The culprit is kded4 which is in a infinite busy polling loop. Switching back to the kded_networkstatus.so file from package kdebase4-runtime-4.7.0-297.1.x86_64 is a workaround. I recently installed openSuSE 11.4 on it. I also installed vmware so I can support Novell Partner Teradata (they are windows-only environment). So on a hunch I add nox2apic to kernel cmdline, presto VMs come up fine. Only problem with providing nmi_watchdog=0 nox2apic is now wireless (iwlagn) will not work at all. The only way to get wireless to work is to turn on X2APIC. However the file is either not packaged or in the wrong package. This bug applies to both koffice2-krita from KR46 as well as calligra-krita from KDE/Unstable/Playground. This works between a Linux client and Linux server. It also works to the Solaris server using nfs3. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Solaris: zfs set userquota@myname=3g dpool/export/home 2. Solaris: share -F nfs -o rw=lnxclient /export/home 3. Linux: mount -o rw,vers=4 solaris:/export/home /home 4. Linux: quota -v myname [ returns nothing ] Actual Results: Nothing. Expected Results: Standard quota output. The problem is in this section of code in the the rpc_rquota_get function in rquota_client.c: /* For NFSv4, we send the filesystem path without initial /. Server prepends proper * NFS pseudoroot automatically and uses this for detection of NFSv4 mounts. */ if ((dquot->dq_h->qh_io_flags & IOFL_NFS_MIXED_PATHS) && !strcmp(dquot->dq_h->qh_fstype, MNTTYPE_NFS4)) { while (*pathname == '/') pathname++; } A truss on the Solaris rquotad shows that it indeed receives the path without the leading '/' and proceeds to return nothing to the client. We've patched our local installation by deleting these lines and quota on the nfs4 mount behaves properly. Sometimes without doing nothing, screen get still. Mouse cursor still moved, but clicking on any icons didn't produced any output. After 1-2 minutes, screen goes black. The only way to reboot is through hard-reset (other methods didn't seem to work). When it reboot, BIOS lost connection with the HDD but not the CD/DVD drive, and sometime vice versa (detect CD/DVD drive but not HDD). Tried the nomodeset solution, screen goes completely black and no mouse cursor. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Reboot/log-in after 3-4 hours (when PC seemed to cool down). 2.BIOS only detect CD/DVD drive. Also tried switching SATA cables of both drive among four SATA connectors on motherboard. Inserted OpenSuse 11.3 installation DVD, and tried to reboot from HDD, still failed. 3.After countless time tried to reboot, fortunately BIOS detected HDD but not the CD/DVD drive. Took the opportunity to log-in. Actual Results: After 5-10 minutes, the problem re-occurred, while trying to search for log file viewer. Open terminal and enter dmesg, and suddenly all stop. Clicked on shutdown icon, didn't produced any reaction. Out of nothing, the screen went black and the mouse cursor disappeared. Expected Results: Showed the log file of any error occurred when problems started. Can't produce any log or info related to the problem, due to unable to log into OpenSUSE 11.3. At the moment, this report is filed via my HP Pavilion (run Win7). However this are the specification of my PC, that I managed to write down before. Motherboard - Gigabyte S-series G31M-ES2L CPU - Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2160 @ 1.80GHz HDD - Samsung HD502HJ (/dev/sda) 500GB CD/DVD drive - TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S223C (/dev/sr0) Display - nVidia VGA-compatible controller GeForce 8400GS 2D driver - nVidia 3D driver - nVidia 260.19.44 OS information : OS - Linux 2.6.34.7-0.7-desktop i686 System - OpenSUSE 11.3 (i586) KDE - 4.4.4 (KDE 4.4.4) "release 3" Honestly, this is my first time filing a bug and I'm still new in OpenSUSE. (bug summary) would allow summary column in right pane to be wide enough to be useful in necessarily narrow windows.
