Populate /etc/sysconfig/proxy with PROXY_ENABLED=no and HTTP_PROXY=http://whatever and make sure the settings are available in your shell (if necessary, re-login) 2. zypper refresh Actual Results: The environment has http_proxy unset, as it should due to PROXY_ENABLED=no. zypper-1.6.x tries to contact the proxy nevertheless. 1.5.7 did not do this.
