This happens at each login/reboot. I enter the credentials and check to save the data but it popups up every login. When I re-open Yast2 > Network Services > Proxy, the credentials are shown. This occurred after installing 11.4-RC2 by formatting the previous 11.4_-M6 root (/) partition. The /home directory was on root with symlinks to a common data partition for data directories (Documents, Pictures, etc.). There is also an OS 11.3 partition with the same symlinks from /home but that does not display this popup. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install 11.4-RC2 (full install mode) 2.Reboot/re-login 3.Popup displays Actual Results: On login, popup displays requesting proxy credentials Expected Results: Use proxy credentials as stored Screenshots of displayed popup and proxy credentials as stored by Yast2. Changed option to use NetworkManager. I get the error dialog popup indicating "no network running". The following internet connection test just appeared to hang and after several minutes I had to abort it. Network works fine after installation is finished. On openSUSE /var/lock is reserved for device lock files and must not be used for other purposes. Due to the use of tmpfs on /var/lock the subsys directory does not exist anymore either so if your package used /var/lock/subsys for any real purpose it might be silently broken already. After putting the system to suspend this won't work. Also after a second time putting to suspend it won't work. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Restart if you've done a suspend recently. 2. Try Adjusting brightness (on my Notebook using Fn+F6/F7), this should work. 3. Put the system to suspend mode. 4. Wake up the system from suspend and try the steps named in 2 again Actual Results: In both cases (before and after suspend) the KDE brightness widget is shown correctly but brightness won't change after suspend. Expected Results: Adjusting brightness should work like after a fresh restart. System: Toshiba Tecra R850-11M openSuse 11.4 / 2.6.37.6-0.7-desktop / KDE 4.7 The actual state is also after a suspend shown correctly in the following file: cat /proc/acpi/toshiba/lcd brightness: 5 brightness_levels: 8 When adjusting the brightness using the keys the value in the file above is actualized corrctly. Invoke mkinitrd with the "-b" parameter (eg. mkinitrd -b /home/abcd/boot) Actual Results: The appropriate initrd file is created inside /boot, not in the specified directory (eg. /home/abcd/boot). The same applies for the kernel image which is used from /boot.
