Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. add a 2nd monitor 2. open kde display configuration to activate it 3. set it to be anything else but a copy of the original screen Actual Results: touchscreen calibration is extended to the hole virtual screen. this makes it impossible to use the touchscreen. It looks as if tabs are all 8 characters on the printout instead of the stop at a specific tab point. The problems with it have been occurring since KDE 4 came out, and the way it is done in the window has changed with every update of kate. To get a proper printout, I have to select all in kate, copy to OO Writer or OO Calc, and then print. Also, the selected font size in the window is not the font size as printed. Printing appears to be a fixed font size that is larger than on the screen. I have VMware Workstation 6.5.4 installed under windows. I use this to run OpenSuse 11.3. In previous year, I have been using the same configuration with OpenSuse 11.1, and the VMware Tools installed - which worked fine. One important function is, that I can enlarge the VMware window, and this leads to a resize of the openSuse virtual "screen". Doing this, the fonts remain the old size, giving more real space for openSuse, even for new windows. Since switching to OpenSuse 11.3 I wanted to take advantage of the included open vmware tools. This also works fine with one important exception: The VMware machine starts up in a small resolution (800x600). Enlarging the screen here e.g. to 12080x1024 works as expected for existing windows. If I however, close firefox, dolphin or other windows and re-open them, they get huge fonts. This effect happens, regardless if I use the mouse to enlarge the vmware window, or if I e.g. use KrandrTray. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install openSuse 11.3 in VMware 2.Start openSuse 11.3. I opens in a fixed resolution (800x600) 3.Open a Dolphin and a firefox window (or other windows) 4.Use KRandRTray to enlarge the screen to a much larger size (1280x1024) Everthing still looks nice, the space for the VMware is now larger. 5.Close Dolphin and firefox 6.Reopen Dolphin and firefox Actual Results: The attached screen shot shows the result: The Dolphin and firefox title lines are still ok, but the window contents now uses huge fonts Expected Results: Dolphin and firefox should still use the same font sizes. I burned a data CD (of MP3 files, but I don't think this should matter) with K3B. Again, I emphasize that I burned a data CD, NOT an audio CD. The CD burned normally, and then I ejected it and reinserted it to test it. It would not mount, there was no notification from the KDE4 device manager thing in the tray. I also looked for it in Nautilus, and nothing. So I rebooted with the CD in the drive, and still nothing. I manually mounted the cd via the command line, and it works perfectly, so the CD burn is good, and the drive works fine. I also tested the CD in Windows Vista on the same machine, and it works perfectly, being automatically detected and available as expected. I also tried other CDs on my openSUSE system, both burned and commercially pressed, and they all work perfectly with the KDE system. What in the world? I'm using K3B, writing mode "Auto", volume name "dqh53j9w", File system "Linux / Unix + Windows", Datatrack mode "Auto", Multisession mode "Auto". Thanks for the help with this bug. Opening it with eg gimp works perfectly and hitting ->view->preview works too. When copying the two pictures to a different location e.g. usb stick this error does not persist. Keyboard and mouse movement works. I haven't found a way to break out of this situation except restarting the X session or killing the process that owns the window that seems to capture the mouse klicks. Sometimes it "goes away" by itself, suddenly everything works again When I switch to a text console with Ctrl-Alt-F2 in the error situation, by running od -x /dev/input/event<X>, I can see the mouse clicks on the input device, so the touchpad seems to work fine hardware-wise. Doing that from an terminal under X (e.g. console) doesn't work, probably because X is capturing the events. Switching back from the text console to X, the error situation still persists. I traced the problem back to a call against stat() in kdelibs-3.5.10/kate/part/katebuffer.cpp. Jeff Layton at samba.org pointed out, that a test source I provided needed to be compiled with -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 flag. See https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7707 Recompiling kdelibs-3.5.10 with this flag solved the problem for me. But I believe the libraries shiped with SuSE 11.3 should be recompiled too.
