When printing images using this printer the brightness of the images is far too dark. Making adjustments to settings using hp-toolbox has no effect. Reported the issue to HP HPLIP team and filed a bug report there. https://bugs.launchpad.net/hplip/+bug/885246 They have advised the contrast / brightness issue is due to buggy Ghostscript 9.00-xx included with Opensuse 11.4 Tested with HPLIP 3.11.5-1.5.1 from Opensuse and also HPLIP 3.11.10 from HP Downgrading to Ghostscript 8.71 corrects the issue. It later copies those into "/etc/ssh" in the new installation. It currently does not save the ecdsa keys. It only saves the rsa, dsa, and old ssh1 compatible host keys. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install (new install) on top of an older system that has ssh host keys. Install with DVD or network CD. 2.After the install, check "/etc/ssh" 3. Actual Results: The ecdsa key (elliptic cryptography host key) was not saved. The other keys were saved. Expected Results: All keys should have been saved. Note that this is mainly a consistency issue. SO one has to set/change proxies at two places now: once at the YaST Proxy module for zypper, etc and then again in g-c-c, which is inconvenient. Never saw tracker before, and since it seems to be a GNOME appl, I'm not sure who installed it (did it come with the upgrade?). Anyway, both tracker-store and tracker-miner use around 90% of my CPU capacity, causing the fan to sound like my PC wants to take off, and my other applications to run slow. I have about 200G of data on my PC, but most of it is quite static and never changes. Furthermore, tracker seems to take ages to finish. I suggest that trackers and beagles and whatsoever would only run if I don't use my PC and that they would stop indexing as soon as I touch my mouse or keyboard. I have this problem on opensuse 11.3 and 11.4 (factory). I have a Asus Xonar DS 7.1 sound card with Logitec x540 speakers. The Rear speakers work -- however, I cannot adjust their volume. Strangely, I have this exact problem with every distro I've tried (several), EXCEPT Ubuntu/Kubuntu. On Ubuntu, it works perfectly, and I can adjust all volume levels individually without problem. I installed 11.2 x64 on a reiserfs partition, then replaced fstab from a backup copy, forgetting that the root line was for ext3, and rebooted. No error was reported. But... there were strange things. I copied them: Mount said it was an ext3 filesystem: /dev/sda9 on / type ext3 (rw,acl,user_xattr) because fstab had: LABEL=a_test2 / ext3 acl,user_xattr 1 1 But "file -s /dev/sda9" said: /dev/sda9: ReiserFS V3.6 which is correct, and boot.msg log proves it: <5>[ 3.104641] REISERFS (device sda9): found reiserfs format "3.6" with standard journal <5>[ 3.104652] REISERFS (device sda9): using ordered data mode <4>[ 3.104653] reiserfs: using flush barriers <5>[ 3.105080] REISERFS (device sda9): journal params: device sda9, size 8192, journal first block 18, max trans len 1024, max batch 900, <5>[ 3.105360] REISERFS (device sda9): checking transaction log (sda9) <5>[ 3.146242] REISERFS (device sda9): Using r5 hash to sort names Ie, it is and was a reiserfs partition, but mount wrongly reported that it was ext3. There is a bug here. Notice that damage may become if you fsck in this situation: because of this, I classify as MAJOR. (I corrected the fstab and rebooted; things are correct now and no damage seems to have come out of it... (I did not try to fsck). Other people have reported a similar problem in the opensuse mail list (thread: "[opensuse] ReiserFS partitions recognized as Ext3.
