After downloading nedit and opening 4 nedit windows on one virtual desktop, I can reproduce the slow desktop switching problem. So as far as I can see, this is still an issue with openSUSE 11.3. Sound does not work in any instance Actual Results: No sound through software applications or Operating System, only BIOS beeps. Expected Results: Sound through speakers, internal, rear and front headphones if /etc/modprobe.d/50-sound.conf is set with "options snd-hda-intel model=lifebook" the front headphone jack receives sound. I'm using the Gnome 2.28 desktop environment. Note 1: I believe only the nvidia driver (not nv nor nouveau) support setting up audio-over-HDMI. Note 2: Very recent GPUs (Fermi class) are not yet supported by the driver. Using speaker-test, there is no sound from line out. The only sound is from the internal speakers. I am attaching the output from alsa-info.sh. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install openSUSE 11.3 2. Try to use sound 3. Actual Results: No sound from line out. Expected Results: Sound from line out. I have not had a problem with sound until 11.2. Setting an xterm to visible well displays the bell properly but in the normal mode there is no sound. Playing the test sound from yast's sound module works properly.
