I modified the timezone from an American one to Europe->Germany. I then wanted to set the NTP server by using the chaNge button. The time was retrieved from the NTP, but because the timezone was not set yet, the time was wrong by several hours. I could fix this at runtime by doing: mv /etc/localtime /etc/localtime-old ln -sf /usr/share/zoneinfo/Europe/Berlin /etc/localtime and setting "Berlin" in: /etc/sysconfig/clock TIMEZONE="Berlin" Then going back to the Yast2 Window and refreshing the time through NTP gave me the right time. When setting the initial user password and (as usual) getting rebuked by the password quality checker, the resulting message box reads: The password is too simple: Es basiert auf einem Wörterbucheintrag. Really use this password? [Ja] [Nein] Ie. only every other line is translated. 2. On the "Installationsübersicht" (installation overview) screen, the "Firewall und SSH" section reads. For example, while 'dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/null' reports 75 MB/s, iotop shows approximately 200-300 PB/s. It doesn't seem to be a problem of iotop itself, however, as binary from OpenSuSE 11.2, run under 11.3 and chrooted to root directory of 11.2 installation, behaves the same (under 11.2 it's OK). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. run iotop 2. run 'dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/zero bs=1M count=1K' 3. see the output of iotop 4. compare with speed reported by dd Actual Results: Values reported by iotop are much higher (at least 1E9 times) than values reported by dd.
