Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set your power settings to (under profile management) to resemble something like this: [on power] Performance [on battery] Powersave 2. With your computer plugged in go get a coffee or do something that takes more than 15min. Do not touch the mouse or press any keys during this time. 3. Come back and unplug the power cord without touching the mouse or pressing any keys. 4. Watch as the computer instantly goes into standby. Actual Results: The system goes into standby because it has been idle for the past x number of minutes. Expected Results: The system to reset the idle counter when the power is removed or plugged back in. This would result in the computer waiting x number of minutes AFTER the profile has been entered before performing the action. This seems to occur between 10-20% of the time. On many occasions the missing characters are either parenthesis '(' or brackets '['. This isn't always the case. Sometimes the missing characters are just normal alpha-numerics [a-zA-Z0-9]. The failure to paste isn't due to me just 'missing' the first or last character, but something in the KDE4 copy and paste logic. Presumably something related to the "smart" copy-and-paste or "braket highlighting" feature. I have watched this problem for the past couple of months and cannot put my finger on the exact cause. I will try and capture screenshots of the behavior, but to date, I haven't been able to due to the fact that it will require a screenshot of every selection prior to the paste in hopes of catching this behavior. Are there any setting that I can turn off that may help? Let me know if I can send more information. Thanks. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Select text on the screen using the left mouse button 2. Paste text with the middle-mouse button (eg. in kwrite, any edit box, etc.. where you paste it doesn't seem to matter) 3. Either way, I googled around and found this patch for JeOS/SLE10: http://gitorious.org/kiwi/kiwi/commit/fd0d509112e85f01da618169896a1d257718f… which pointed me in the right direction insofar as that the openssl-certs package was not needed in the bootstrap section of boot image You might want to consider applying the same update to the config.xml in the boot images that come with kiwi. Using yast it tells me why: I have pidgin-otr installed: wolfgang@tvp:~> rpm -qR pidgin-otr rpmlib(VersionedDependencies) <= 3.0.3-1 pidgin = 2.6.3 I see two issues here: 1. pidgin-otr needs to be updated as well (or if the requirement is wrong that needs to be fixed) 2. I don't think it's a good idea to have different versions of purple and pidgin? Or is that not an issue?
