However, there was a Linux professional from Indonesia (unfortunately have forgotten his name, but he should be still alive and well) who has published steps that allowed me to prepare an installation USB flash drive. I have two boards with this chipset from different manufacturers (AsRock and GigaByte). They both work well. E.g. there were several cases where i586 had an "higher" version number and what not while I couldn't care less about them since I run x86_64. Suggested resolution: Show the installed version, architecture and the repo / vendor it comes from. Then also show where the "better" version comes from (including version, architecture and repo).
