Packages clearly mentioned in the dependency tree are not being installed. After removing the /bin/ part, osc prints has rpm print something about alien: Building mingw32-cairomm.spec for openSUSE_Factory/x86_64 Getting buildinfo from server Updating cache of required packages Verifying integrity of cached packages The following package could not be verified: rpm: To install rpm packages on Debian systems, use alien. See README.Debian. Notes: - Removing baselibs.conf in _link does not work-around this failure. - I would never create such tricky package without bug 492427. Even if the web interface claims such feature, it does not work: When creating a link package, filling "Name of linked package in target project" different from name of package in source project results "excluded" status of the package in all distributions including the source distribution. That makes me believe the monit process can't find the pid file, so I have to explicitly add the pid file path in /etc/monitrc: set pidfile /var/run/monit/monit.pid After said line is added to /etc/monitrc, the "monit status" command works as expected. Such issue is not found on Fedora / Ubuntu, and I believe it has to do with the different pathname for the monit.pid file. My suggestion to fix this issue is either: a. Change the path of the monit.pid to that of the default one (i.e. /var/run/monit.pid) b. Add the "set pidfile /var/run/monit/monit.pid" to /etc/monitrc by default installation Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Login to OpenSUSE, open a Linux terminal 2. Make sure the monit package is installed 3. Start the monit process: service /sbin/service monit start 4. Type in: sudo monit status 5. Compare the result with: ps -ef | grep monit 6. (wrong owner/group # named:named) # /var/lib/named/dev/null: don't know what to do with that type of file # setting /var/lib/named/dev/random to root:root 0666. (wrong owner/group # named:named) # /var/lib/named/dev/random: don't know what to do with that type of file # ERROR: not all operations were successful. So i set them manually according to the values stated by permissions.d? # named chroot (#438045) This solved that message too. But my guess that these permissions might still not be the proper ones. For example these ones changed from alone only due to rebooting once and restarting named: #/var/lib/named/proc Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install named and enable chroot in sysconfig 2. chkconfig named on 3. rcnamed start 4. ls -l /var/lib/named 5. grep "working directory is not writable" /var/log/messages Actual Results: I dont know how to set the permissions properly. Expected Results: Persmissions should be set properly from alone or maybe by permissions.d? Will attach the named.conf (cacheing only) Can you please help on this?
