KDE Audio is loaded before Network Manager. My Installation of Thunderbird has all its local folders and setup information on my NFS Server. I can easily open Thunderbird and have it fully load before Network Manager has loaded. I assume V11.2 will come with KDE4 Network Manager and I just want to make it apparent that loading the Network is currently far far too late in the start-up order. The example above is just painful, however sooner or later, and depending how quick and powerful a PC's CPU is, major issues will emerge. As Network Manager loads after all other applets, the combination of a poorly resourced PC added to a potential of many many many applets that a user can choose, starts to make problems grow exponentially. Can we please have a serious look at the start-up order of all dependant processes and the subsequent loading of any number of Applets and move Network Manager up the list as far as we can make it. A restart of the PC will re-start and re-enter the Network Update Server, however the online update MUST be Skipped at this time for the installation to complete. Funily enough Installation does recognise the Video Card and Monitor correctly at the end of Installation Hardware Phase. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. See Yast2 logs and hwinfo 2. 3. Looking into setupBootLoaderStages() in KIWIBoot.pm, I found that if (-e $tmpdir."image/loader/message") failed and the following mv command skipped. 2) It hang and caused a system exception at: ==> Searching for boot device Looking into the kiwi boot log, the commands in searchBIOSBootDevice: file=$(ls -lt $cmpd 2>/dev/null | head -n 1); if [ -z "$file" ]; then failed and triggered a "Failed to find MBR identifier" exception. The option buttons still say 1. 64-bit 2. live-cd 3. bit-torrent But dont pay attention to the grey-box selection which has reset to defaults. i.e., 1. 32-bit 2. DVD 3. Standard(HTTP/FTP) Now click the download link thinking that x86_64 option button is still selected. And go for lunch. Then XServer work fine until i try to turn on kwin effects... (when i click on plasmoid "Toggle compositing" on my desktop xserver crashes)... Actual Results: X-server crashes and i get logon screen...
