Only way to recover is by logging out from the keyboard using Ctrl+Backspace+Backspace. Even the taskbar disappears and only the background remains visible. Occurs around once every day, but not everytime. More frequent with Compiz enabled. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open any moderately/highly CPU intensive program, example BMP on GIMP / HD video on VLC. 2.Press Alt+F4. Actual Results: All icons, taskbars disappeared. No response to any mouse/keyboard gesture except Ctrl+Backspace+Backspace. Expected Results: Switch to desktop or background program. This is a terrible default because it breaks all the other default key bindings in compiz which use Super_L or Super_R and the default keybinding to invoke GNOME Do. You have GNOME Do running, you go to press Super_L and Space to invoke it and as soon as Super_L is pressed the GNOME menu opens! The binding of Super_L and Super_R to open the GNOME menu can be disabled in Compizconfig Settings Manager > Utility > Workarounds, however it's a per-profile setting so if you disable it for one Compiz profile, then select a different profile using Control Center > Desktop Effects, the unhelpful binding is once again present. The current implementation is fine for a line length more than approx. 132, but fails if you run yast in an xterm with just 80 characters. We are using NFS (NFSv3 and v4) together with Kerberos (sec=krb5i or sec=krb5p in the options line) I wasn't able configure nfs mount via Yast NFS client, because the standard setting in the file /etc/sysconfig/nfs on the line 31 said NFS_SECURITY_GSS="no". For the Kerberos/NFS identification this has to be set NFS_SECURITY_GSS="yes". Can you add "security gss" button bellow "Enable NFSv4" in the NFS setting part ? For now I edited /etc/sysconfig/nfs manually. But would be nice If I can do this via yast (without manually editing system files) Would be nice too, If there is the the yast/nfs client some warning about /etc/krb5.keytab ticket file: For example : "For security gss you need the /etc/krb5.keytab ticket file too!" I already uninstalled and re-installed htdig. I checked the ~/.kde4/share/apps/khelpcenter/index here all the books I installed are listed (e.g. selfhtml) I have created a new test user. then directly went to the helpcenter. In scope there was one entry the unix manuals, then after building the index there was the second entry. Application manuals. I've seen some warnings (line 6) and errors (line 151, 233, 358) in the output but I don't know if they are related to the problem I face. Since in addtion to my PC I have an laptop and a spare hdd for it I did a netinstall of suse 11.1 with a freshly downloaded iso from opensuse and checked the scope. There was only unix manuals in it. Then I installed the susehelp packages. then ran susehelp again tried to build the index on application manuals, as expected the it compained about missing htdig, which I installed. Then I could succsessfuly create the index for the applications manuals. After that the entry application manual was listed in scope so again I only had a total of two entries in the scope list. Then I added the kde factory repositories and did a "zypper dup" to 4.3. No change still only two entries. So only having two entries seems to be default behavoir for opensuse 11.1 with kde 4.x. under http://img2.myimg.de/scopekhelpcenter3510ce506.png you will find a scope view of kde 3.5.x and under http://img2.myimg.de/khelpcenter43106d5b.png of my kde 4.3.x As you can see there are much more entries in the kde 3.5 version. A quick improvement of the Tutorials would be to mention that there is a style guide that should be read and applied, while apologizing that the tutorial in current state does not reflect that in every case. In an discussion in irc it was mentioned that reworking the tutorial (and i guess the config skeleton) might be a great Junior Job (JJ), as it automatically brings you closer to YCP. Afterwards kwallet is quiet and plasmoid will ask me to reenter the password again. After doing that the connection will just not work without any further notice(which I think should at least be communicated to the user). After checking the log it says no credentials provided. I checked the plasmoid settings and default is to store it unencrypted. Changing it to encrypted file didn't work either. Still the log complains about missing password. The only thing that works is to select "prompt for password". After a fresh boot display brightness and detection wether ac-power is on or offline works properly, but as soon as the following error occurs "ACPI: EC: input buffer is not empty, aborting transaction" the brightness keys and ac-power detection don't work anymore. It's also (often) after a reboot and in such cases the error occurs during boottime. Something I was wondering about is the fact, that if I look for ac-power info in /proc/acpi the correct info is set, but kpowersave doesn't any information. Any suggestions?
