I've made some tests and it actually looks like that openoffice (2.4, 3.0, 3.1 and not only in Suse but also in Debian) can not open correctly file with ".RTF" extension. This looks like a resource leak to me. For example, running "display /usr/share/pixmaps/yast.png" gives a window flickering with 100% CPU. Also, show a big JPG file (like photo) with display, then resize it (e.g. View -> Half Size via left-click menu), then results in a flickering window. All what I get at slide 156 is the following: “QuickTime™ and Sorenson Video decompressor are needed to see this picture”. BTW, totem-gstreamer is able to play QuickTime and Sorenson encoded videos here. Other times I just get the segfault and the coredump, and some times I get a glibc traceback, see attached.
