Behind me Knotify opened more and more Windows stating "?????? needs attention" When over 581 Knotify Windows had opened behind me ALL resources of System were used up. Known Issues. KlamAV was been installed and deleted, however still reports and issue on booting. Unable to identify service and terminate the cause???? I had 3 Yast windows Open, Thunderbird open in 3 windows and ksnapshot - sorry I am unable to offer more info. I attach Yast log which identifies many issues that are unknown to the user as of today's date represented in Yast as MM/DD/YYYY I am sure this is related to Thunderbird issuing an unable to connect message and this notification window if not closed will re-appear until all system resources are used. During creating of this bug, I had Thunderbird open and a message was issues behind me and as it was unanswered it caused Knotify to open up to system resources. The major issue with Thunderbird is that dialogue messages are not issues with immediate focus - for example 'enter password' for S/MIME digital certificate- and knotify messages do the same Spell check on text only screens is the first casualty of low system resources caused by massive knofity windows issues by ? and not with immediate focus. However, on openSUSE 10.3 kweather refuses to work though the proxy entries in /etc/sysconfig/proxy are identical and the network interface is not hindered by any firewall. No station is being found at all. Using the old version of kdetoys from openSUSE 10.2 does not work either, so I assume there is some bug with the proxy - configuration. If you enter runlevel 3 and set things manually: export HTTP_PROXY="<PROXY>:<PORTNUMBER>" and do a startx afterwards, kweatherservice works fine. Must be some basic configuration issue. This was successful - the environment variables are set properly. But to use this proxy after first login in KDE, you have to go to kde/konqueror's proxy settings: - "Use preset proxy environment variables" is already checked (which is correct). -> You have to click on "Setup..." and then "Auto Detect" to fill out the variables, otherwise proxy will not work. The first bug is a minor one: Starting K3b from the Plasma opens K3B and then show a popup: "KDEInit couldn't start '/opt/kde3/bin/k3b'.", which it actually just did.... Starting it from the menu doesn't give this error. I recreated the desktop entry from the menu entry, and the result is the same. The second bug is that K3B seems to have lost some functionality during updating: it doesn't recognize bin-files as images anymore. I used to just click the .bin-file and it would burn directly (at least I think it did, didn't it?), as it does with iso-files. Also via the menu option "Burn CD image", it says "invalid image". But I do not see a way to umount it again. I use thunderbird as email client, and beagle-thunderbird adding and extension to index my emails. My KDE environment is set to use thunderbird for email, and almost all applications I work with, can successfully launch/use thunderbird when I need to compose or view emails. Can kerry be fixed to respect the KDE settings?
