Summary: libgnomecanvas-no-tearing.diff prevents teg from
redrawing correctly

teg package
Federico,
as I've already described in:
[opensuse-gnome] next issue with GNOME:STABLE: canvases aren't redrawed
correctly
it still holds true for 11.0:
I suffer from canvases and its items, that aren't redrawed correctly in teg
(a risk clone, I happily provide a src.rpm for anyone interested). This
game uses a canvas with some items, and those aren't updated correctly.
Forcing a redraw by switching screens, or moving a window over them fixes
this, but that's an unplayable state.
The fact is, it doesn't happen with upstream libgnomecanvas nor does it happen
if I prevent libgnomecanvas-no-tearing.diff from applying to the
libgnomecanvas-2.20.1.1-42.1, thus there is either a problem in your patch, or
a problem in teg.
May I ask you kindly for a fix (either way). I've attached the source rpm of
the problematic package. The applied patches just change/add some shortcuts and
a minor different default play mode..
BTW: I already tried to fix teg in some way, by sprinkle
gnome_canvas_update_now() calls to various (random) places, but all I harvested
was worser behavior. After messing in teg for a few hours, I tried above
approach, and succeeded immediately.

This is an upstream bug we may consider as critical for SLED11, as it causes
lock-ups with GroupWise and GroupWise message losses:
http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/3820
It seems to happen in evolution groupwise lookup if pidging evolution
integration (gevolution) is active.
How to reproduce:
1. Get a message from a new Groupwise contact
Result: Pidgin hangs and does not respond
See upstream report for backtrace.

Some images and css-files get loaded/included from static.opensuse.org in the
webfrontend of a local instance. This slows down browsing the local frontend
and also requires bandwith. This could also make trouble if the
internet-connection is interrupted.
Feature Request: Include these into the deployment.

The openSuse updater applet insists on wanting to install updates to packages
that have been marked as protected or Do Not Install in Yast's package
management utility. For example, I have openmotif22-libs (the 64bit package)
marked as "Do Not Install", yet YOU still shows it as being available.
I also have x11-video-nvidiaG01 and nvidia-gfxG01-kmp-default marked as
protected, but updates are still shown for them also. Accordingly, the openSuse
updater icon always shows that updates are available and waiting to be
installed.
It appears that either Yast does not correctly set the protected status or
openSuse updater ignores the value as set in Yast.

Now, when you are configuring Apaches virtual hosts using http-server YaST
module, YaST will create only one configuration file
/etc/apache2/vhosts.d/yast2_vhosts.conf but I think it would be better, than
YaST will create one configuration file for each of created virtual hosts.
So if we have created vhost for example leon.m4r3k.org YaST should create file
/etc/apache2/vhosts.d/yast2_leon.m4r3k.org.conf or something like this with
configuration.

Summary: Locale sr_RS.UTF-8 don't exist

I'm unable to use UTF-8 characters in non-KDE programs when sr_RS locale is
set.
Gimp, Pidgin, and Inkscape works only when using ASCII characters.
In OpenOffice I can use whatever character I want, but only in text editing -
If there is a non-ASCII char in the path of a file that I want to edit (open) -
it gives me an error.
When I switch back to en_US.UTF-8 locale, everything is OK.
I guess, if there were sr_RS.UTF-8 locale, everything would be just fine, but
there is no such locale. Here is what locale -a prints:
~> locale -a | grep sr
sr_ME
sr_RS
sr_RS@latin
~>
So, sr_RS.utf8, sr_ME.utf8, sr_RS.utf8@latin are missing, I gues.
------------
This is on Fedora 9:
~> locale -a | grep sr_RS
sr_RS
sr_RS@latin
sr_RS.utf8
sr_RS.utf8@latin
On Fedora 9 there is no problem like I have on openSUSE.

Hi, I'm the upstream maintainer of openct. I had a look at recent openct
packages from suse and I'm pretty sure they are not working correctly.
the hald addon uses /proc/bus/usb which does not exist in suse I'm told,
it should instead use /dev/bus/usb. also the fdi map does not match smart card
readers via usb interface class 0b. please use both the fdi map and hald-addon
script from new openct 0.6.13 and update to 0.6.13 and you should be fine.
also at least on ubuntu I had to install the hald-addon in /usr/bin, not
/usr/sbin. please check the right location will be used for opensuse.
thanks, Andreas
