It'd be useful to have this enabled by default. When run by a non-local user (authenticated via Active Directory) it doesn't run. bash -x /usr/lib/firefox.sh as local user ends with exitcode=0. For non-local user it ends with exitcode=1. As far as I've been able to figure out, its possible to make pulse behave correctly by editing /etc/pulse/default.pa Having to resort to config file editing for something as ordinary as 5.1 (or 4.0) speakers is bonkers in 2008. Recomend that everyone with setups like mine ripp out all pulseaudio related packages and install esound if using gnome. The problem is that it doesn't even have proper network connectivity at this time (repo is remote). It should check with NM (or otherwise) for network connectivity before trying to refresh remote repositories. Open Konqueror 2. Go to http://www.cnn.com 3. Print the page with kde's pdf printer (which is nothing else but ps2pdf, I think) 4. Watch the pdf either with kpdf (which is default viewer) or with acroread and you will see the jumping letters The problem only occurs, when using kprinter to print the pdf OR generate a postscript-file which will be used to create a pdf. It could have something to do with kprinter itself or with GNU enscript (which is used by kprinter). When using Mozilla-Firefox to print to a cups-pdf printer (http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/feature/17636.html) this problem does not occur (while firefox uses its own postscript generator). When printing from a kde application or using kprinter we have again the mysterious jumping letters.
