That dialog blocks for ages. Stracing kmail shows that it stats each and every home directory. After providing password, root session is starting. Customizing view of console, all changes are lost when console started again. Closing console causing to pop up the message box saying: "The program is not responding, do like to close it anyway?" However the the display has some horizontal stripes in regular distances (see photos). Everytime I pop email, there is a PAM error (audit_log_acct_message() failed: Operation not permitted. Everything still works though, just lots of error messages in the log. It appears to be related to a recent change in the pam package. Not sure if the fix would be a change in /etc/pam.d/pop, or something in the pam code. After searching for a while I discovered hat openSUSE is using latest version from 2002. mpg321 may have been necessary since mpg123 was'nt GPL'ed. AFAIK I read the new license of mpg123 it's LGPL. It is current (2008) and working stable on x86 and x86_64 (at least on my systems). No numbers are displayed. Number Lock in system BIOS is set to yes/on. Have tried two different Keyboard Layouts (Generic Basic, Micro$soft Basic) in Yast, they have no effect on Number Lock problem. Setting Number Lock in Sysconf file to either ON or AUTO makes no difference. There were no issues with keypad on OS 10.2 or 10.3. Re-installed OS 11.0 doing fresh install this time. No effect on Keypad. (this did fix a Firefox-Flash problem) Tested keypad on older Window$ (Win2k), the keypad works.
