One hundred load cycles per hour were reported on a Lenovo R61 using openSUSE 11 beta 2, as you can read here: http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-factory/2008-05/msg00066.html I think further investigation is required, being this issue quite serious, considering its impact on the disk life. (This update also killed my hitherto working flash setup for Konqueror.) So I updated nspluginwrapper to nspluginwrapper-0.9.91.5-3.1 and nspluginwrapper-i386-0.9.91.5-3.1 from the mozilla buildservice repository. Now, 32 bit plugins have become completely unusable for me: neither Acroread 7 nor Acroread 8 (I upgraded to AdobeReader_enu-8.1.1-1) do accept any keyboard input, neither for scrolling nor for searching. Uninstalling and reinstalling nspluginwrapper didn't help. If that counts, I am on KDE 3.5.8. However if one selects the 'Keep thumbnails of minimized windows up to date' from the advanced options in desktop effects, the minimize effect stops working, although the effect for maximizing the window works as before.
