During this hang, nautilus process is stuck in the kernel and unkillable. After several minutes, nautilus comes back and everything works fine. Now, with 11.0, if i use drivers from suse repos, X wont start. Even sax2 fails. If i use drivers from Nvidia site, they works fine. Kaffeine plays an mpeg file without problems. The mouse is a usb-mouse. I use Gnome. When I try to boot the kernel of xen shipped with the final version of openSUSE 11.0 I have the problem that it will not start the x-server. It will boot trough..no probs..saying that it will switch to init 5 and than I have an black screen, laptop still running. After hitting return, I've got an message that I have an pre-release version of x and it is not supported. After that I will throw back to tty2. Neither starting sax2 manually after coming to tty2, neither switching the boot entry to vga=971 or vg=normal nor the workaround in Bug 372555 from the beta version of 11.0 will help to fix the problem. Both cegui from Packman and libcegui from OBS games repository provide them. Since games repository has a higher priority than Packman (games 70 - packman 90) I would expect zypper to select libcegui and no cegui. At really both packman and games provide smc (and all the needed deps). The following pattern conflict message appears: nothing provides xen-tools-ioemu needed by pattern: xen_server-11.0-34.x86_64 The only option available is to not install xen_server. The xen-tools-ioemu package is no longer being shipped (it was consolidated with xen-tools). As reported on the blog http://www.renesys.com/blog/2008/05/identity_theft_hits_the_root_n_1.shtml, independent DNS servers popped up on the old root server address -- actually several of them. The security consequences of obscure DNS root server usage are obvious, IMHO. You might want to consider security updates to the bind package with an updated root.hint file.
