I get follow message: " Silicon Integradet 5513 [IDE] drivers: pata_sis, SIS5513, pata_acpi, ata_generic, ide_pci_generic loading pata_sis Activating usb drivers... " And now the system is stopping on this point. I had switched the console and found follow message: " hub 1-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 2 hub 1-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 3 hub 1-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 2 hub 1-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 3 " And the other console: " insmod /modules/usbhid.ko " Think, the reason for this stopping will found in the usbhid.ko When i try to install Suse11 with the bootpromt "broken_modules=usbhid" i have after then no usb-support. The mainboard ist from the year 2002 and i had never usb-problemes before with suse. Since only two values are allowed for terminal (serial, console) this should not be a free text field. The default, when terminal is not specified is console. In fact it only makes sense to set terminal, if parameters for the serail console are specified. Therefore I would suggest to completely remove this configuration option from YaST and set terminal to serial automatically, id serial connection parameters are specified. Other programs worked just fine (wget, zypper, ping), but both Firefox and Epiphany were broken. Used in conjunction with the nss_updatedb utility, it provides a mechanism for disconnected use of network directories." (see http://www.novell.com/products/linuxpackages/opensuse/pam_ccreds.html) OpenSUSE provides pam_ccreds but not nss_updatedb (and dependencies). With all of the above being said, OpenSUSE should provide these packages or an alternative method of cached LDAP authentication so that laptop users could still log onto their accounts while not being connected to the LDAP server (or in case should anything prevent computers from reaching the server) Many other distros support this and OpenSUSE would be benefit by it.
