In other KDE applications (and in OOo with GTK dialogs also) open and save dialog windows can be opened only once. Steps to reproduce: Set OOo to use KDE dialogs. Click File->Open, repeat. More than one open dialog will pop up. For automatic installations, --set should be supported. A patch against Debian's update-alternatives can be found at: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=133745 Actually, openSUSE's is version 1.8.3. Is there any reason not to update to Debian's 1.9 or 1.13 version? http://packages.debian.org/cgi-bin/search_packages.pl?keywords=dpkg&searcho… If I do an diff between SUSE's 1.8.3 to Debian's 1.10, I find the following extra options: + update-alternatives --remove-all <name> + update-alternatives --list <name> + update-alternatives --set <name> <path> + update-alternatives --all --remove-all name Remove all alternatives and all of their associated slave links. name is a name in the alternatives directory. --set name path Set the program path as alternative for name. This is equivalent to --config but is non-interactive and thus scriptable. --all Call --config on all alternatives. --list link Display all targets of the link group. The reason is probably that the bottom bar "needs" this space. It shows: Beste x Ergebnisse von < werden angezeigt. (Suchvorgang läuft noch) plus the buttons "Vorherige Ergebnisse", "Weitere Ergebnisse", "Einrichten" and "Schließen". I can't reduce the width as long as search results are displayed. To reproduce, search for anything in Kerry while the index is still being build. The error message is "Unable to retrieve configuration file from the CUPS server. You probably don't have the access permissions to perform this operation." Of course, I changed to administration mode, so I suppose I have root priviledges. KDE version 3.5.5 "release 45.2". So far, so good. However k3b always fails to erase the medium (with no good reason given). Only if you open the tray, then explicitly choose "erase CD-RW", and then press "load medium", erasing the medium will succeed (while GNOME will pop up "unable to mount media"). This is very bad usability and should be improved. If I decide to edit that path manually, I click in this field, then delete some characters from the end of the path back to a / then enter the first letter of a folder, a list of possible completions drops down. Here I click on my choice with the left mouse button : the list collapses and the chosen folder is displayed with the trailing /. !!! BUT !!! it is not used for saving the file : 1. if I click on the save button, the file is stored to the old path, which is no displayed 2. if I click repeatedly in that top right box nothing happens What should happen is : the large box which shows the contents of the folder should be updated at the time I selected the path in the completion list. On the other hand as device to be handled by the "camera" ioslave.
