While trying to find out why sound did not work, I found out that the OSS module opl3sa2 gets autoloaded and prevents the ALSA module snd-opl3sa2 from working. (Thanks to Takashi for the help at the Labs conference.) Adding opl3sa2 to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist (sysconfig.rpm) has fixed it. We want to bond two times two interfaces together in a active-backup configuration with a fixed active 'primary'interface. Therefore we followed the guidelines given in the bonding.txt (both manual as via /etc/sysconfig/network) and ifcfg-bonding manpages but neiter could we get to work. We actualy get the second bonding interface working with the same options as bond0 is configured by using the max_bonds=2 option in the modprobe.conf.local file. Config in /etc/modprobe.conf.local: alias bond0 bonding options bond0 mode=active-backup primary=eth2 miimon=100 max_bonds=2 With the above config both bond0 and bond1 are created and configured with ifcfg-bond0/1 scripts but we cannot configure bonding to act as we want. The following configs won't work: alias bond0 bonding options bond0 -o bonding0 mode=active-backup primary=eth2 miimon=100 alias bond1 bonding options bond1 -o bonding1 mode=active-backup primary=eth3 miimon=100 (We tried already to add max_bonds=2 to the first options line). Even the configurations via /etc/sysconfig/network is not working: ifcfg-bond0 and ifcfg-bond1: BONDING_MASTER="yes" BONDING_MODULE_OPTS="mode=active-backup primary=eth2 miimon=100" BONDING_SLAVE0="eth2" BONDING_SLAVE1="eth1" BONDING_MASTER="yes" BONDING_MODULE_OPTS="mode=active-backup primary=eth3 miimon=100" BONDING_SLAVE0="eth3" BONDING_SLAVE1="eth0" (The configuration files are merely the same, only bond0 is comming up, is configured and working). My questions: - Is there another way to configure the second bonding interface? - Is this problem solved by upgrading to SuSE 10.2?
