Please, update ALSA to 1.0.14 even if ALSA is in RC. The reasoning is that pretty much every new desktop machine ships with an Intel High Definition Audio Card with codecs (SigmaTel, Realtek), thus renders ALSA 1.0.13 quite useless due to the fact that it doesn't support those codecs. The network manager successfully lists the ESSID and sometimes successfully connects too but in general it doesn't work. This works the other way too. While the network is working, if I turn on wireless in the nm-applet, it dies. The network card is ipw2200. 06:05.0 Network controller [Class 0280]: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 2915ABG Network Connection [8086:4223] (rev 05) Any ideas? So far, so good. That screen has a checkbox "Do Not Show This Message Again", which I ticked after manually selecting "Yes" a couple of times. However, it seems this does not have any effect.
