I had booted the base environment with no problems numerous times. At which time I felt I could go to the next kernl/patch level. I went ahead and updated the three files and rebooted. grub came up correctly. When selecting the new option "kernel-2.6.18.8-0.1-default", I got the following: booting 'kernel-2.6.18.8-0.1-default' Root C /dev/mapper/nvidia_(NV RAID designator)_part15 Error 23: Error while parsing number Press any key to continue. If I tried any of the other option, I got: root (hd1,4) Filesystem type is reiserfs, partition type 0x83 Kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.18.2-34-default root=/dev/mapper/(NV RAID designator)_part7 VGA=0x31 Resume=.dev/mapper/(NV RAID designator)_part6 splash=silent showopts Error 15: File not found Press any key to continue. My system consist of: ASUS M/B with Nvidia nForce4 chip set. Understandably the application is either not complete or is beta development. Possible actions are = close wonfix - remove from being installed. Assign and correct dependencies and hardware database consider using promiscuous ethernet information rather than run hardware dependent properties.
