I believe, though, that the permissions problem is actually just a result of the fact that I can't access the Global Address List. When I click on Global Address List in Evolution's Contacts window, I get an error popup saying "Error loading addressbook. We were unable to open this addressbook. This either means you have entered an incorrect URI or the server is unreachable." >From tcpdump and the server logs, we can see that Evolution does, in fact, communicate with the server and authenticate successfully, but I still don't get access. Is there any debugging output on my end that I can check for clues? Hardware: 1. ASUS A7N8X (Atlon,nforce), DVD-ROM, DVD-recorder, one IDE HDD 2. Asrock K7S8X (Athlon,SIS), DVD-ROM, one IDE HDD. the first reboot during Installation failed the systems freezed. I tried many many bootoptions / Bios settings - no effect. Only when I tried boot-option "insmod=ide-generic" I had no more system failure and messages on tty 10 but also no automount. After changing the DVD-ROM drives to new ones from LG every thing was fine and very stable. Same effect with 10.3 / I never try 10.1 The DVD-ROM was a MSI type D16(MS-8216) and D16(MS8216S). PS: I think 50% of the bug's with DVD written here are the same problem. please correct this bug or make a remark in the release notes, cause it is very difficult to find this problem caused by a crummy IDE drive. This function is needed whenever a value of type "any" is retrieved from a map or list, to use a proper default value. E.g., if the <any> values in my_map can contain <string>s or <integer>s: map<string,any> my_map = ...; sformat("%1", is(my_map[this]:nil, string) ? my_map[this]:"" : ( my_map[this]:nil == nil ? "" : my_map[this]:nil ) ); Most other approaches give error messages or unwanted behaviour as follows: my_map[this] = 123; sformat("%1", my_map[this]:"") -> Can't convert value '123' to type 'string' my_map[this] = "testing"; sformat("%1", my_map[this]:0) -> Can't convert value '"testing"' to type 'const integer' my_map[this] = nil; sformat("%1", my_map[this]:nil) -> no error, but output is 'nil' (and I want the empty string '') The only working alternative that does not need the "is()" function is this: sformat("%1", my_map[this]:nil == nil ? "" : my_map[this]:nil) I believe this is a standard situation and as such both alternatives should be documented.
