When you access cdrom in win98, can you watch how much cpu is used? High cpu usage indicates that PIO mode is active. It might be that your dvd rom's mwdma just doesn't work and it needs to driven in pio mode. The checksum failure is probably due to sector length bug in ide which is a known bug and doesn't really affect data integrity. So,... * Please monitor cpu usage in win98 and report. * Put the device into PIO mode and verify *file* integrity not the whole disk integrity. If the above two indicate that only PIO mode works for your drive, blacklisting should be enough. It will display a unsolvable conflict in YOU, which only can be made to go away by ignoring it completely or by deinstalling one java. I will attach the generated testcase. After selecting 'start lan game' it get's to the 'map', scans for servers, decides there is no server (which is true), falls back to create a server and after 1 - 2 seconds, drops me back to the menu. When starting FB from the shell to see debug messages, I can see the following errors: -l: creating UDP server for answering broadcast server discovery, on default port 1511 -d: debug mode on: will not daemonize and will display log messages on STDERR -n: name is too long, maximum 12 characters Couldn't connect to localhost:1511: IO::Socket::INET: connect: timeout If I start the game with frozen-bubble --my-nick Domi then I can see that it creates a game-name lan-Domi, so I assume it picks my login-name (which is dominique) for the normal case. Together with lan- it will reach 13 chars... thus exceeding the 12 char limit. I use the pdns-recursor to perform DNS lookups under SLED 10. So my /etc/resolv.conf is configured with "nameserver 127.0.0.1". But the installer didn't start up powerdns -- and while some of the system used its own resolver, other parts of the system tried to use the resolver configured in /etc/resolve.conf. It'd be nice if it would entirely use /etc/resolv.conf or entirely ignore /etc/resolv.conf during an upgrade. It'd be stunning if the installer knew to start pdns-recursor if it is configured on in the standard runlevels. :) But I'd be happy to settle on consistency.. The installer detected the screen as 800x600, but since the screen was actually smaller, only the top left corner was visible. Using alt-F3 (?) should allow the user to change the screen size, but without seeing the screen, there is no way to put the mouse into the menu to choose the smaller screen size. This control worked without problems on SL 9.3, but since 10.0 my phone (K700i) freezes, when contacting the computer. Pairing of the device was successful.
