MacOS 9 uses this timezone offset. This code runs only on 32bit, OS9 does not run on G5. A G5 has to run always with UTC instead of localtime. YaST has some code to force localtime on pmac. The disk was constantly busy. dhcdbd complains to syslog about lack of dbus every 3 seconds. The network just works fine. Its almost perfect with 10.2b1+, but Xvnc can start because it misses some fonts. I selected network manager instead of ifup in yast. yast told me (in red) that a new network interface was added to the firewall. After configuring everything, the system booted. But the network interface eth0 had only an ipv6 address. The internal eth1 was appearently the default now. After reboot, none of the 2 interfaces has an IP assigned. So what is this bug all about?
