Summary: Gnome CD/DVD burning dialog widget disappear
Product: openSUSE 10.2
Version: Final
Platform: i386
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Major
Priority: P5 - None
Component: GNOME

openSUSE 10.2/Gnome 2.16.1:
The Gnome CD/DVD burner window opens correctly from both the Programs menu or
just by entering a blank CDR disk in the DVDRW burner drive. Copying an .iso
file into thi window and then pushing the "Write to disk" button, two widgets
pop up over eachother.
The problem is that when selecting the "make an image" button on the front
widget at the same time also the widget behind disappear (are closed). I see
the wrong burner drive is preseleced as default, but I'm not able to select the
right one as the widget becomes closed (disappear).
Therefore I have had to reboot to openSUSE 10.1 on the same hardware to burn my
disks, and where the Gnome CD/DVD burner has worked all the time.

If you add categories to the Menu Layout section of the gnome-control-center
they do not show up under the "More Applications" section of gnome.
How to duplicate:
Click on Computer and choose Control Center. Within the Control Center launch
Menu Layout. Click on New Menu and add a new Menu item. After adding the new
menu item you are unable to check the box next to the menu in order for it to
show up.

Summary: mutt in gnome-terminal truncates long URLs at page
boundary for "Open Link"
Product: openSUSE 10.2
Version: RC 1
Platform: All
OS/Version: SuSE Other

Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Other

QAContact: qa(a)suse.de
Using mutt (mutt-1.5.13-28) in gnome-terminal (gnome-terminal-2.16.1-22) on
my factory box, URLs opened via the "Open Link" option in gnome-terminal
truncate at the page boundary. If you increase the width of gnome-terminal
so the whole URL fits on one line, Open Link opens it correctly.
Strangely, this only happens inside mutt. If you open a text file with a long
URL in gnome-terminal, the Open Link does the correct thing and spans the
page boundary to include the whole URL.

Examples of such labels: "Company", "Report Date", "Gantt Chart", "Tasks", etc.

My alt-key works in other apps, but running 'gedit' type some text, press
Alt->F for the menu - no Alt behavior - most odd.

Summary: Nautilus' Execute file permissions are not granular
Product: openSUSE 10.2
Version: Beta 1
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: GNOME
AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome(a)forge.provo.novell.com

In right-click on file -> Properties -> Permissions, there is only a toggle for
Execute permissions. That means either everyone can execute the file or no
one. This doesn't allow for a user or a group to be allowed to execute it
without allowing everyone.
This is technically a feature request since the feature is not implemented.
However I think the fact that there is no UI is Nautilus that provides the
ability to set execute permissions for just the user (a core filesystem
operation) make this a bug not and enhancement.

about the severity so 'Major' seems to be possible :)

Bug 114128: susehelp has been changed to run yelp instead of khelpcenter in a
GNOME session, but the entry in the traditional GNOME menu is still labeled as
"KDE Help Center".
Maybe it should be neutral and identify itself just as "Help Center".

When installing via WLAN the system does not know the ESSID/Key after the
reboot but wants to access the install media without it -> not possible
Either we have to store that data somewhere (I think we should definitely store
the ESSID for nets without a key) or ask again for it before accessing the
install media.

Summary: Different font rendering for various types of programs
Product: openSUSE 10.2
Version: RC 1
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Basesystem

ReportedBy: ma2412ma(a)hotmail.com
QAContact: qa(a)suse.de
In openSUSE 10.2, the font rendering is not consistent at all. There are at
least 3 different behaviours. KDE programs, GNOME programs and OpenOffice.org
all render their fonts (e.g. in the menus) differently. Clearly, OOo looks very
different from the rest, but there's also a slight difference between GNOME and
KDE programs (which is nevertheless annoying). Maybe every library has a
different dpi resolution? I know that this can look much better, Kubuntu is an
example where all mentioned programs look the same.
