Summary: YaST disappeared from the Kickoff menu
Product: openSUSE 10.2
Version: Beta 1
Platform: x86-64
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: KDE
AssignedTo: kde-maintainers(a)suse.de
ReportedBy: amantia(a)kde.org
QAContact: qa(a)suse.de
After the upgrade to 10.2B1, in the new KDE kickoff menu I had an entry to YaST
under My Computer (I think called something like System Settings or so).
After some reboots it disappeared. Don't ask me, I have no idea how it
happened, all I remember that I run YaST several times from there and suddenly
it disappeared. ;-) Now I added to my Favorites, but I thought it worths to
mention this. If you have any idea how to reproduce it (I couldn't see a way to
delete or move an entry from there), let me know and I will try it.

SHIFT +Click and CTRL + click are standard CUA conventions. I find the comment
#10
a non functional value opinion. Confusion only exists when an established
conventions are NOT observed - hence the bug report.
To say that the view mode has anything to do with a function convention is
wrong.
If we wish to entise users from a MS O/S then certainly we should observe the
same function conventions. Without standards in adhering to a very wide number
of users who expect the same functional conventions to work is not unrealistic.
These CUA standards were conceived and go back as far a MS O/S was created.
This convention is far from new and is as old as CTRL + C CTRL + X and CTRL + V
as well as SHFT + right cursor control.

Well, I am.

It won't help. I'll get bugreports against non-working 3D support instead
(see comment #4).
BTW, ATI is aware of this issue and support for X.Org 7.2/Mesa > 6.4.2 is
already planned for a future release. There's no need to fill this bureport
with more comments about missing support in current drivers.

Summary: System Restore Fails to run Suse Config after file is
restored
Product: SUSE Linux 10.1
Version: Final
Platform: i386
OS/Version: SuSE Linux 10.1
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Other
AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening(a)forge.provo.novell.com
ReportedBy: alpha096(a)tpg.com.au
QAContact: qa(a)suse.de
Despite the option being selected to run SUSEConfig after system restore is
complete it fails to do so.
This really should not be an option. If the files are restored to the root
partition without SUSEconfig the files are not accessible.
The analogy would be to add new software via Software Management without
running SUSEconfig to complete the process.

The currently released udev update for this bug kills booting from LVM.
It might make sense to revert the patch to udev.
