[Bug 216442] New: YaST disappeared from the Kickoff menu
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=216442 Summary: YaST disappeared from the Kickoff menu Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Beta 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: amantia@kde.org QAContact: qa@suse.de After the upgrade to 10.2B1, in the new KDE kickoff menu I had an entry to YaST under My Computer (I think called something like System Settings or so). After some reboots it disappeared. Don't ask me, I have no idea how it happened, all I remember that I run YaST several times from there and suddenly it disappeared. ;-) Now I added to my Favorites, but I thought it worths to mention this. If you have any idea how to reproduce it (I couldn't see a way to delete or move an entry from there), let me know and I will try it. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

That's rather strange as addition of the menu item is hard-coded. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=216442 ------- Comment #2 from amantia@kde.org 2006-10-31 12:40 MST ------- Exactly. Just that this gets more and more like X files. My session was restarted meantime and now I have again the System Settings there. Furthermore I have a second session started for another user where I don't have either System settings or System Information, the first entry there is Home Folder. Now I make a screenshot, as this might disappear as well. ;-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=216442 stbinner@suse.de changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|ASSIGNED |RESOLVED Resolution| |FIXED ------- Comment #4 from stbinner@suse.de 2006-10-31 14:15 MST ------- I bet it only happened after unplugging/unmounting some device. updateMedia() did not use unique ids for system view items (used for static items before), hopefully that fixes this in Beta 2. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=216442 ------- Comment #5 from amantia@kde.org 2006-10-31 23:01 MST ------- That might be the case, altough I cannot reproduce by plugging/unplugging an SD card to an USB reader. Well, let's hope it is fixed. :-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
