OK that. 6) Now sw_single is busy (y2log: Parsing filelist from ..../filelists.xml.gz ) but no UI feedback is given. Duncan says a callback is not used at this point that should be. This seems to continue indefinitely (BUG). 7) Get frustrated and ctrl-alt-esc sw_single's window - which closes. 8) Now both yast2 sw_single and sw_single qt are stale, state S and Sl respectively (BUG). As a result the zypp db has a valid lock on it as the process is still there, and any other package operations are locked, so the naive user has to reboot. Latetly, I run in a case where I was just missing a feature: - Basic setup of WLAN Interface is set to DHCP (as most of the time I'm in a DHCP provided environment) - At one moment, I had to connect to another WLAN, without DHCP. I had to enter a IP Address manually (happens sometimes). BUT here comes the glitch: - I would either have to change this via YaST2, to set the configuration on STATIC, or - I have to associate everything manually using iwconfig, ip addr add, route and nameservers. The latter case worked more or less ok, BUT NetworkManager does not get the idea that I just connected to a WLAN and thus all application relying on it see the network as being disconnected (firefox, zmd and so on) So: the FeatureRequest would be: - When choosing to connect to a new WLAN, I would like to have the option to use DHCP or Static addressing, thus obsoleteing the settings made by yast (which are to static for a wlan usage). In plus, most might have the issue the other way round: having static IP in the office and as soon as they go out, they need it on DHCP. Thus binding dhcp/static to the network essid seems logica. I ran software manager from the Yast2 suite, but all the servers I have on the list were unavailable. So one after another there were reports about this. It was obvious I wanted to abort this process (since I had no sense in such situation) but: 1) popup dialogs (which displays info about connecting to each server) don't have "cancel" buttons 2) The main app has "abort" button but it does not work So how is the user supposed to abort it? Assuming a newbie knows where to look..... As most other CD/DVD etc connect to /media, why not to link the download directory to /media/bluetooth? This eliminates the posibility of providing the users with the NCL or many of the other benifiets of Novell's product line. With the new definition of LTSP5 moving directly into Ubunto, Debain, and Fedora Novell\SUSE need to move QUICKLY to rectify this ommision in order to continue to gain desktop markert share. Sept. 2006 (flash-player-7.0.68.0-1.2). When trying to install this patch with rug, I am asked to accept the license agreement. Since I have to maintain pool of desktop PCs, I'd be interested to install the updates unattended. With the appearance of this flash player patch, "rug up" stops now asking for a keystroke. Could this patch be reshipped without a license confirmation? For instance. I first created a profile for the httpd2-prefork program , 1) start the wizard 2) fill in the path and press start 3) perform all the actions and events with the specified program 4) Scan system log for events 5) Rate all the events that were registered 6) Finish (Apparmor is now in enforcing mode) I close my Yast2 , re-open it and go back to the Apparmor 'Add profile wizard' Now i'm going to profile an other application. 1) Fill in the path (/usr/sbin/foo) and press start 2) perform all the actions and events with the foo program 3) Scan system log for events and when scanning the system log for events I still notice some events that were generated by my first application (httpd2-prefork) which have nothing to do with my second application. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
